A colourful new flag designed by a primary school pupil is now flying proudly at the entrance to a housing development.
The flag was created by a primary five pupil from St Mark’s Primary School in Barrhead as part of a competition organised by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland for its Springhill Gardens site.
The winning design was turned into a real flag and now welcomes visitors to the development.

Caroline Collins, principal teacher at St Mark’s Primary, said: "Taking part in Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s competition to design a flag for their Springhill Gardens housing development was an exciting opportunity for our Primary 5 classes to be involved in.
"The children enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design, and I understand the judges found it hard to choose a winner due to the high standard of entries.
"The flag looks great, and the banner is so colourful too.
"Together they showcase the hard work and artistic talent of our children and create a lovely connection between our school and the local Taylor Wimpey development."
The winner received a £50 book voucher and visited the site to see their flag on display.
Five other designs were selected to feature on additional signage around the development, with each pupil receiving a £15 book voucher.
